The journey

This journey follows Ireland's Atlantic edge, where the light changes every ten minutes. We leave Westport through the Doolough valley, one of the wildest roads in the country, to reach Ireland's only fjord at Killary, then Kylemore Abbey and the Twelve Bens mountains.

Connemara reveals itself along its small roads: the Sky Road above Clifden, the bogs of Roundstone, lakes as far as the eye can see all the way to Lough Corrib. After an evening in Galway, the Burren unrolls its limestone plateaus to Doolin and, as a grand finale, the Cliffs of Moher.

Highlights
  • The Doolough valley and Killary fjord
  • Kylemore Abbey beneath the Twelve Bens
  • The Sky Road at sunset
  • The Cliffs of Moher as a finale
